SEQ Aquatic Helper Courses

The Swim England Aquatic Helper Course is an introductory training programme designed to provide young people with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to assist a qualified swimming teacher or coach during aquatic sessions. The course aims to develop awareness of pool safety, communication and teamwork, learning styles, and professional conduct within the aquatic environment.

This course forms part of Swim England’s recognised education pathway and provides an ideal first step towards the Swim England teaching qualifications.

The cost for this course is £225 per person.

All learners must be 14 years or above on day one of their chosen course and must be able to confidently and competently swim 25m.

What's Next?

SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification

Progress from The SEQ Aquatic Helper Courses to either the  SEQ 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) Qualification or SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification in order to become a swimming teacher capable of taking your own lessons. This qualification will include practical experience and theory sessions, assessed by the course tutor. Learners must be at least 16 years old.

 The cost of this course is £700 per person.
