RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
The industry-leading lifeguard qualification teaches you the necessary skills to work as a lifeguard. The course runs over five days and includes practical and theory sessions, which are assessed externally.
To enrol on this course, candidates must be able to swim 50 metres in 60 seconds.
The cost for this course is £300.

RLSS Open Water Lifeguard Qualification
The Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) Qualification was developed by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) to address the role of open water lifeguards and the needs of open water operators. As the open water industry continues to grow, the RLSS UK have endeavoured to respond to change through the ongoing development of this qualification. The OWL qualification can be used to supervise and provide rescue cover for planned, organised and risk assessed activities in still, non-tidal water.
To enrol on this course candidates must be competent and confident in open-water.
The cost for this course is £300.

RLSS Swimming Pool Emergency Rescue Award
Many hotel and small pools use Swimming Pool Emergency Rescue Award to cover any pool emergencies. This course is tutor assessed and runs over two days.
The cost for this course is £120.

RLSS National Rescue Award for Teachers and Coaches
Many operators ask that swimming teachers have the rescue award, or to be a lifeguard.
NRASTC is a supervision and rescue award for swimming teachers, coaches and (or) instructors working during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools where the water depth is higher than the teachers’ standing depth and meets the individual facility’s Risk Assessment.
This two-day course equips you with the knowledge required to respond in an emergency where there is no lifeguard support.
The cost for this course is £130
NRASTC LIGHT is a supervision and rescue award for swimming teachers, coaches and/or instructors working during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons when a Lifeguard or First Aid backup is available to respond quickly in the event of an emergency.
It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools, including pools where the water is deeper than the teacher’s standing depth. This award is only suitable when the facility has staff qualified as Lifeguards or First Aiders that are available to respond quickly to a swimming teacher or coach in the event of an emergency.
If Lifeguard or First Aid backup is not available the standard NRASTC should be used.
This one-day course equips you with the knowledge required to respond in an emergency where there is also lifeguard support.
